FDA Wind Loads to LFRS Gridlines

Description of Software Tool:

The above referenced Excel Software Tool is provided for the determination of Wind Loads to Lateral Force Resisting System (LFRS, or MWFRS for Main Wind Force Resisting System per ASCE 7 nomenclature) elements (shear walls, frames, panels, etc) at pre-determined lines of resistance in Low Rise wood framed buildings using flexible (wood framed) diaphragms, assuming Flexible Diaphragm Assumptions (FDA).

Factored design wind pressures at LFRS Gridlines are determined in two separate processes done in parallel within the software tool, both of which must be completed prior to obtaining meaningful results; the first process is the determination of wind pressures acting on the Low Rise building, and the second one is the definition of exterior wall surfaces tributary to each LFRS Gridline in both orthogonal directions (N-S and W-E), thus defining the entire building envelope. The first two worksheets in this software tool are used to perform the second process, and the last 5 worksheets are used to perform the first one.

The following worksheets are included within this Software Tool:

(Sample Bldg N Elev, S Elev, W Elev, E Elev)
